Look good, feel better.
Let’s be real, I bought this brush because I’m an utter sucker for a pretty thing and when I read the story behind it, I was hooked.
As you may know, earlier this year I donated my hair and raised a little money for a Canadian charity called Beauty Gives Back. They run a Look Good, Feel Better program to help women cope mentally and physically with cancer treatments by conducting workshops on various topics such as:
- dealing with dry skin due to chemo
- hair loss and drawing on eyebrows
- skincare and makeup tips
Similarly, IT Cosmetics has partnered up with the America Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better Program. With each purchase of this Love is the Foundation brush, IT Cosmetics donates a brush to the program. Thus far, the company has donated over 10 million dollars in products to this cause!
Makeup is often seen as simply superficial, however it can really make a difference in brightening somebody’s day. In the case of cancer patients, it can empower them and give them their identity back, rather than simply feeling and looking like an illness.
Now on to my review of the brush.
Price: USD 30.00
Having never tried a product from IT Cosmetics before, I was so very surprised at how soft this brush is! Like the kiss of a butterfly against my face. It is made with “Heavenly Luxe cruelty-free (aka synthetic) hair”. It was released last year during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) as well, so it looks like this will be an annual affair.
On my dry (sometimes prone to flaking skin) this was very smooth in blending in foundation. It did not leave streaks, nor did it irritate my skin. Good performance combined with a gorgeous heart shaped head and ombre pink handle – what more could a girl ask for?
If you’re so inclined, pick up a brush – you’ll be treating yourself and doing a good deed to boot! Otherwise, please think about donating to a Look Good, Feel Better campaign in your area. It’s truly a worthwhile cause. And while you’re at it, make sure you’re keeping aware of your health, do regular (self) breast exams and don’t be afraid to see your doctor.
❤ Stay safe and healthy
