Review: Wet n Wild Megalast Lipsticks + Swatches included!

Who’s up for some lipstick swatchfest? I am! I know that this is just one more review in the hoardes of reviews that already exist on the interwebs but hopefully this helps you out. FYI, the swatches are 2 swipes of the bullet.

With flash (swatches are true to life)

Without flash

Top to Bottom:

  • Rose-bud
  • Mauve Outta Here
  • Cherry Picking
  • Purty Persimmon
  • Stoplight Red
  • Cinnamon Spice
  • Cherry Bomb
  • Ravin’ Rasin
  • Sugar Plum Fairy
  • Vamp It Up

The Breakdown

  • mostly matte; there is a hint of a sheen
  • highly pigmented
  • long lasting and they leave behind a stain
  • most shades go on pretty smoothly
  • relatively drying (esp cause I have dry, dehydrated skin/lips), so put a lip balm on and let it sink in prior to application
  • little to no feathering
  • no discernible scent
  • some darker shades can be a tad patchy (Vamp It Up, I’m lookin’ at ya)

The Pinks L-R: Rose-bud, Mauve Outta Here, Cherry Picking

Rose-bud: warm toned light pink

Mauve Outta Here: very blue based, cool tone pink

Cherry Picking: bright hot pink

The Reds L-R: Purty Persimmon, Stoplight Red, Cinnamon Spice, Cherry Bomb

Purty Persimmon: orange with a hint of red

Stoplight Red: true red, no warm or cool undertones (but my lips are pigmented so it leans a teensy bit pink on me)

Cinnamon Spice: Brown based red (very much a ‘Marsala’ colour)

Cherry Bomb: deep burgundy (less brown, more red in comparison to Cinnamon Spice, but they look very similar)

The Plums L-R: Ravin’ Rasin, Sugar Plum Fairy, Vamp It Up

Ravin’ Raisin: muted plum/purple shade. Honestly, the name holds true, a more muted version of a grape

Sugar Plum Fairy: a more vibrant purply-pink. Rumour has it, that it’s a dupe of Mac’s Rebel lipstick.

Vamp It Up: dark, vampy and gothic. This is a deep blackened purple akin to Mac’s Cyber. I’ve tried both and couldn’t tell the difference, both in colour and finish/texture.

P1080610Wet n Wild megalast lipsticks hold a lot of mac dupes for a fraction of the price, and I’m sure I’ve missed mentioning some of them, so let me know in the comments below!
